This year, InnoTrans celebrates its 30th anniversary, and Mission Embedded will once again be exhibiting. The 15th edition of the leading international trade fair for transport technology will take place from September 22 to 25 at Messe Berlin.
Mission Embedded will present advanced solutions for digitalization, onboard connectivity, and communication in the rail sector. The focus will be on technologies that make rail transport more efficient, safer, and future-ready.

Telecom On-Board Architecture (TOBA) is a key element of future railway communication. It describes how different onboard applications can be connected to FRMCS through a shared communication architecture.
This creates a common foundation for reliable data exchange between trains, infrastructure, and control centers. For rail operators, this is essential for modernizing existing fleets and integrating new digital applications in an interoperable and secure way.
In collaboration with Frequentis, Mission Embedded is supporting the transition from GSM-R to FRMCS through the development of a TOBA Box. The TOBA Box consists of an FRMCS onboard gateway function with a radio function, both connected via the so-called OBrad interface. The integrated gateway function securely connects future railway applications to the FRMCS network. This creates an important foundation for future FRMCS-ready onboard systems, including intelligent video surveillance on trains.
This allows Mission Embedded to be one of the first providers to offer a future-proof, FRMCS-connected intelligent CCTV system for rail vehicles.
